Discover Taraf
Taraf Holding is the newest name on this list, but it arrived with old money behind it. It launched in early 2023 as the real estate arm of Yas Holding, a UAE investment group with fifty years of history across healthcare, aviation and technology. Because of that backing, Taraf skipped the usual climb through the mid-market and went straight for prime addresses. As a result, the strategy is deliberately boutique: a handful of projects, all design-led, all in locations where land is genuinely scarce.
Luce on Palm Jumeirah set the tone. Positioned on the East Crescent among the five-star resorts, it sold out within hours of launch. This was a strong statement, especially for a developer nobody had heard of a year earlier. The rest of the portfolio follows the same logic. For instance, there's Terrazzo in Jumeirah Village Circle, plus Cello close by, and villas in Jumeirah Golf Estates backing onto the fairways with nothing ever to be built in front of them. There's also a limited run of lagoon-facing designer villas in Meydan's District 11. In short, nothing at volume, but everything at addresses buyers already understand.
The branded partnerships are where Taraf is getting ambitious. The Karl Lagerfeld Villas in Meydan, for example, bring the region's first villa community under the fashion house's name. This project includes 51 homes with lagoon and Downtown views, and it's now under construction with Hassan Allam, one of the region's most established contractors. Meanwhile, in Abu Dhabi, they've broken ground on W Residences at Al Maryah Island with Marriott. On top of that, they've signed a joint venture with Masdar City for a 1.4 million square metre residential community. For a company barely three years old, that's a serious pipeline.
Taraf hasn't yet handed over at scale, since first completions are scheduled from 2026. Therefore, you're buying the design, the location and the Yas Holding balance sheet, rather than a long delivery track record. Still, what works in their favour is the discipline. Small unit counts, credible contractors, prime plots and brand partnerships all give resale a story. Overall, for investors who want boutique product in blue-chip locations without paying Omniyat prices, Taraf is one of the more interesting newer names to watch.
